Veteran Filipino pro Felix Casas proved that he is not finished with the big stage, when he rewound time to win the US$50,000 (S$72,000) B-ing Championship, held from 4 to 7 September at Pattana Golf and Sports Resort in Chonburi, Thailand. His first win on the Mercedes-Benz Tour came from a final-round, sevenunder 65 that pushed him two strokes ahead of secondplace Kiradech Aphibarnrat of Thailand.

Casas, whose last triumph was the Philippine Open in 2001, has been in the golfing wilderness the past three years. He has spent much of his time coaching the Philippines amateur team, while struggling to recapture his form. “I have had some personal problems, but I am back and ready to go again,” said the Manila-based golfer.

The B-ing Championship was the fifth event on this year’s Mercedes-Benz Tour, and was jointly sanctioned with the All Thai Golf Tour.
